Porter is a small time but tough criminal, who's primary gig, is robbery. Now his friend Val Resnick needs $130,000 to pay back a criminal group known as 'The Outfit'. He tells Porter about some Asian couriers who carry $300,000, Porter agrees to it on the condition that they split the take. When they hit them, they discover that they only have $140,000, and Resnick says that, that's what they always carry. He pulls out a gun and shoots Porter in the back and leaves him to die. However, Porter manages to make it to a doctor, and get treated, when he recovers, he sets out to get Resnick and his share $70,000. He begins by approaching an associate of Resnick's. Porter then seeks out a prostitute named Rosie, whom he knew, she tells him where he can find Resnick, when he does he tells Resnick that he should go to his employers and ask them to give him back $70,000 of the money he gave them, Resnick says that's impossible but Porter 'convinces' him to do it. Resnick then goes to his boss, Mr. Carter, who tells him that it's in their best interest to help Resnick deal with Porter. Carter orders one of his men to take Porter out but Porter's just too good for them. Resnick then asks his girlfriend who knows the people whom he and Porter stole the money from, and tells her to tell them where they can find him. When they do they are interrupted by two policemen, but they are crooked who are under the impression that Porter's going after $200,000-300,000 and are going to get it. Can Porter deal with all these people and still get his money.

What is the attraction of refund? Simple: Our hero, Porter (Mel Gibson) is a disgraced himself. In one of the first scenes of the film, he is not above choking and robbing a homeless man for about measely dollars, but ultimately, he is a saint by the sea of scumbags who has harassed her during search to recover the stolen $ 70,000 that almost cost him his life. The cops, her best friend / worst enemy Val Resnick (Gregg Henry sketchball like this is unbelievable, but hillarious at the time, back-stabber who can only taste the love to hate him), Stegman, the cowardly, the free service, betting / distributor of heroin, The Outfit / crime organization, with its trinity of heads (Carter, of Fairfax, and Bronson) who refuse to take seriously Porter until it is too late. You can not be a man with testosterone pumping through their veins and not love this movie. Everything worthwhile in the end. 9 / 10

It is easy after Mel Gibson, even though it represents a villain, but the DivX film Payback is too contributed to recommend. The assortment of colorful characters help, but could not overcome the feeling that this DivX Movie Payback was playing connect the dots ... and that torture scene near the end was hard to sit through. Ouch!

First, it is simply nonsensical action / revenge / violent movie: Payback and so do not expect the Academy Award-winning history. Porter was screwed by his friend that he had killed his wife on his part to 70K for a robbery that shows a picture of him with a prostitute. A jealous woman can do anything. Of course, he did not die but was seriously injured and at least that is good and is not a superman. Then get set for their share of the money and the way he found all kinds of thugs and bad cops. So what is worth watching then? Acting was good, really. There is humor, as well as acts of touch type. And there was some twist at the end. And the camera angle, and the Payback film was perfect for a Payback Short movie like this mafia. In terms of the FIM-making perspective, there is nothing wrong with this Payback film at all, the bar in the plot. While you are trying to death and seriously wounded evident 70K may sound a bit stupid, what makes it fun to watch, with Porter countlessly repeat he is asking only 70K hist and nothing else. So while this is not a film: Payback to stimulate the mind, I note that on my DVD player and watch again and just enjoy it.

It has its moments, but suffers from Mel Gibson to be issued in noirish bad. Do you like Gibson to cut him lots of slack, but basically just a bad cast. The theme of the film, one can say if you have one, is pain. Lots and lots of pain. Then more pain. There were a couple of scenes that had the audience cringing and going "Eeeeeuuuuwww!" If you're still a little delicate, not east. 5 10.
