Set against the backdrop of civil war and chaos in 1990's Sierra Leone, Blood Diamond is the story of Danny Archer (Leonardo DiCaprio) - an ex Mercenary from Zimbabwe - and Solomon Vandy (Djimon Hounsou) - a Mende fisherman. Both men are African, but their histories as different as any can be, until their fates become joined in a common quest to recover a rare pink diamond that can transform their lives. While in prison for smuggling, Archer learns that Solomon - who was taken from his family and forced to work in the diamond fields - has found and hidden the extraordinary rough stone. With the help of Maddy Bowen (Jennifer Connelly), an American journalist whose idealism is tempered by a deepening connection with Archer, the two men embark on a trek through rebel territory, a journey that could save Solomon's family and give Archer the second chance he thought he would never have.

I saw this on December 2 in La Canada, CA @ ... preview a week before the opening of the nation. How can I express my satisfaction and surprise with this movie. Leonardo DiCaprio have better performance in the last 15 years and is multiplied by 10. It's amazing. The granting of an Oscar for his Blood Diamond would not be big enough praise for the way he Aced the role of Danny Archer. The fabulous and perfect script Charles Leavitt is only increased by Ed Zwick, the masterful direction of work. Djimon Hounsou is perfectly cast and is more credible if it carries a shovel. And, Jennifer Connelly and elegance of expression is captivating. Put this Blood Diamond Adventure movie at the top of your list.

Note the story is real. Which is in Africa, this time, and we speak of "slavery", the governments of these countries are committed in the village. And this time it is diamonds. Diamonds are rich. Everyone wants to be rich and everyone is killed by a diamond. Well, not everyone, but the policy to do so. Then, each rich kids win when we talk about human slavery to find some diamonds. Every kid rich win, lose all the poor and losing, and losing again. A good drama starring Leo DiCaprio (who is mature, ahah!) That focus on a diamond called Blood Diamond (because of its shape and his game). Everybody wants diamonds, so no matter how many lives are lost just to get him. And that's quite the moral of the film. Jennifer Hounson and deliver some kind of weird yet wonderful performances, and Leo, well, he is the man. One of the best young players recently. That proved to be an excellent actor versatile. Note the story is real.
